Kisses in the Dark

In darkness deep my lover hides his face
While offering, inviting to embrace
Within the quiet night, and love unseen
Bears secrecy like barriers in between.
Yet unmistaken thrills the gentle spark
Of hiding love to kiss me in the dark.

Mid rumors of a beauty past desire,
I beg to rise and die within the fire,
A glory more than ample ‘gainst the night
That substanceless though somehow hides his light.
And so I weep to glimpse the faintest mark,
And thank my love for kisses in the dark.
